We are proud to announce our #1inaMillion Golfer Kenna Silva from Ocean Course at Hokuala in Lihue, Hawaii.
Kenna was nominated by her coach, Kellie Hines. She said, “Kenna has been part of the OP 36 program from day one. She was stuck on Division 3. She passed shooting a 36, this was her 31st attempt. When she brought her scorecard in, she came directly to me and showed me. We screamed and I picked her up and swung her around. So proud of her. Her grandparents were with every step of the way."
We think the word that best describes Kenna is PERSEVERANCE! Perseverance is the quality of continuing to pursue a goal or objective despite obstacles, challenges, or setbacks - and Kenna did just that! She never gave up! The had the support of her grandparents and her coach who motivated her and helped her reach her goal.
Kenna is not only an excellent golfer, she also designed the logo for the Hokuala Golf Community. What a talented young lady!
Kenna, at 10 years old, is well on her way! We are impressed with her dedication to golf and the example she sets on the golf course.
Congratulations Kenna!
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers to the game and retaining them for the long term. Now, the company will be sharing the stories of these tremendous golfers and their coaches with our wider community, using the #1inaMillion.
