This week, we are thrilled to announce our next nominee for #1inaMillion Golfer. Svetlana Riley from Texas Team Junior Golf at Pebble Creek in College Station, Texas.
Svetlana was nominated by her Operation 36 Coach Wendi Wiese. She has this to say about Svetlana, “I nominated Svetlana for her determination and good attitude. She plays with golfers that have more experience than she does. She never gets down on herself and she just keeps swimming. It’s just like her to have a good attitude.”
Svetlana’s first experience with golf was 2 years ago at the age of 6 through an Operation 36 program. She wanted to try it out after hearing good things about it from a close friend. Neither of her parents play golf, but they wanted her to have the chance to enjoy the sport for the rest of her life. She continues to work on her skills through a combination of Op 36, tournaments and Junior PGA league. And did we mention, she is also a fantastic gymnast!

The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers to the game and retaining them for the long term. Now, the company will be sharing the stories of these tremendous golfers and their coaches with our wider community, using the #1inaMillion.
