This week we are excited to announce our #1inaMillion Golfer Talan Holmes of Weston Lakes Country Club in Fulshear, Texas.
Talan was nominated by his Operation 36 golf coach Keith Simmons. He said, "Talan is a kind-hearted 11-year-old who enjoys golf. He started swinging a golf club at around age six but didn't get hooked until this summer when he was presented with Operation36. He finally got to get off the range and on the course and 'played golf'.
He continued, "As a double amputee, right arm at the shoulder and right leg through the knee, his swing may look a little different than Tiger, DJ, or JT, but that doesn't change his love for the game. Talan loves to be a part of the team at Operation 36 at Weston Lakes. He knows that golf isn't easy, and loves to help out however possible even if sometimes that's just with a smile and a kind word."
Congratulations Talan! You are an inspiration to all golfers! Keep up the great work on the golf course. We look forward to your continued success in golf.
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers to the game and retaining them for the long term. Now, the company will be sharing the stories of these tremendous golfers and their coaches with our wider community, using the #1inaMillion.
