We are delighted to present Sophia Carranza, from Ryan Mills Golf in Henderson, Nevada, as the recipient of our prestigious #1inaMillion recognition, acknowledging her as the next exceptional talent.
Sophia was nominated by her coach Ryan Mills, PGA. Ryan said, “I am nominating Sophia for a number of reasons. She is a hard worker who always shows up to class with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. As proof she just recently passed Level 5 and became the 1st junior golfer in our program to accomplish that feat. She did this in just over a year in the program and less than 2 years since she started playing golf.”
He continued, “Sophia is a great example of why we do this. To help motivate kids to not only pick up the game of golf but also to enjoy it and possibly continue on to play at a more competitive level. She is a great role model to the other juniors in the program who are also learning the game for the first time. Sophia also plays on our Middle School Golf team and has gone from being a player towards the bottom of the leaderboard to someone who is regularly competing at the top.”
Sophia embodies the ultimate in commitment, motivation, and perseverance, demonstrating that her path is only in its early stages, with a golf career that undoubtedly shines brightly ahead.
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers to the game and retaining them for the long term. Now, the company will be sharing the stories of these tremendous golfers and their coaches with our wider community, using the #1inaMillion.
