We are thrilled to announce our first #1inamillion golfer for 2024, 7 year old Colton Hepler from Riverwood Golf Club in Clayton, North Carolina.
Colton was nominated by his golf coach Jonathan Price. He said, “Colton graduated up to level 3 at 6 years old. He continues to work hard at home practicing on days such as New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve. He continues to come out early for class about 20 minutes prior to practice on putting and short game. Since joining the academy, he also inspired his dad to take on the levels and challenges in Operation 36, which his dad is now on level 4."
He continued, “Colton was used to playing with other 6-7 year olds in his early matches. When the other 6-7 year olds decided to take on other journeys in life outside of golf, he was forced to play with older kids on the nine hole events. He responded in a way of being supportive for his new playing friends, but also took on this challenge with positivity instead of being down and out about it."
Colton actively plays with his Grandpa and has his sights on wanting to be a professional golfer! We see you Colton! Your commitment to golf has not gone unnoticed! Your golf journey is just unfolding, and we are genuinely thrilled to witness the exciting path that lies ahead for you. Here's to a future brimming with ongoing success on the golf course!
Please join us in congratulating Colton on this award!
The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers to the game and retaining them for the long term. Now, the company will be sharing the stories of these tremendous golfers and their coaches with our wider community, using the #1inaMillion.
