Operation 36 Hosts Webinar: “Building a Thriving Community: The Op 36 Approach”
Raleigh, NC—North Carolina-based golf player development program, Operation 36,
announces that they are hosting a webinar for Golf Professionals on Thursday November
30th at 1:00 pm ET.
This workshop “Building a Thriving Community: The Operation 36 Approach” will feature Jake Martin, PGA, who is the Director of Player Development at Big Spring Country Club in Louisville, KY. Martin has grown an incredible community of golfers, specifically Juniors and Ladies, and will be sharing his story and advice to other golf professionals.
Martin said, “I was introduced to Operation 36 while I was working at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville California. Susan Crowley brought it on board and the members loved it. Once I moved out to Kentucky realized we needed to do everything I could to get my current club involved with Operation 36. When I arrived at Big Spring our junior program had 35 juniors involved. I know we could do better…It has been the best decision I have made as a PGA Professional. We have built our junior program to at least 200 juniors each year. We have also implemented a Women's Program that has brought close to 200 ladies to the game in the last 2.5 years. Operation 36 has helped us hire more qualified golf professionals to help. Our club is embracing junior golf in a way I could have not imagined. We are very lucky to be a part of Operation 36 and encourage all golf professionals to join the group.“
The workshop will be hosted online, on Thursday, November 30th at 1:00 pm ET. Space is limited, and those who are interested may grab their seat through this free registration here.
About Operation 36
Operation 36 is a Division of Golf Genius and is the most effective developmental program to teach beginners how to play golf. All new players begin on the course, and instead of starting at the tee box, they play from 25 yards away from the hole. Once the player shoots par (36) from 25 yards, they back up to 50 yards, and so on, until they are shooting even par (36) from the full tee box. Participants engage in weekly classes taught by golf professionals and all progress of the golfers is tracked in the Operation 36 Platform. The Operation 36 mission is to create 1 million new golfers over the next five years, and they want to help coaches with introducing new golfers and retaining them for the long term.
