Richard Forde - Coach Impact Award - April 2025

We are excited to recognize Coach Richard Forde as the recipient of the April 2025 Coach Impact Award! Since joining the Operation 36 network just seven months ago, Richard has made an extraordinary impact at FordesGolf in Barbados. He embodies the heart of Operation 36—welcoming every player with a big smile, bringing contagious energy to every session, and helping each golfer develop their skills and confidence one swing at a time. Richard’s program has already welcomed over 150 new golfers, with 86 players successfully completing Level 1 and continuing their progress. His commitment to offering regular opportunities for students to challenge themselves is clear: 17 formal 9-hole events have been logged, an important milestone in providing meaningful experiences and measuring student development. Beyond the numbers, Richard’s community impact stands out. His ability to create a fun, supportive environment has led to an incredible surge in engagement—especially among ladies in Barbados, where 10 ladies’ classes are now fully booked! His players are thriving thanks to his efforts to make golf exciting and accessible. As one student, Trudy G., shared: “He is always active to make golf interesting and fun, finding sponsors for events to engage the community and encourage new golfers (ladies) to try and participate in scrambles, tests, and lessons.” Coach Richard’s passion for celebrating student success, fostering community, and growing the game exemplifies what Operation 36 is all about.
